Daisy the Three-Legged Dog’s Diary #1
Updates from the owner of an amputee terrier. Her ongoing zest for life — and ability to jump — should be an inspiration to anyone!
Some day, I’ll tell the entire beautiful story of Daisy the three-legged dog.
For now, I’ll just briefly summarise it and introduce the concept of a regular Daisy Diary.
I found Daisy roaming the streets, gnarled and abused. She had been neglected to such an extent that she seemed on her last legs. All four of her limbs were intact back then, but I would have bet money they were shuffling towards death’s door. I estimated her age to be around fifteen, so I took her into my home.
I’m already beginning to ramble and tell the story properly. I’d better pull back on my lead and stop getting carried away, as I often have to do with Daisy. After all, following an obligatory week at the pound, a good wash and a medical check-up, she turned out to be spry and energetic in abundance. Best of all, educated eyes took a good look at her teeth and came to the conclusion that she was two years old — not, thankfully, fifteen.
